Professional Pathways: Girl Scouts Equine Experience Specialist
Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont delivers the Girl Scout experience in 40 counties across central and western North Carolina and is seeking an Equine Experience Specialist to create and lead engaging and inclusive mounted and un-mounted equestrian programs for their diverse constituency of Girl Scouts and community riders.
What you will do:
Create and lead engaging and inclusive mounted and un-mounted equestrian programs for Girl Scouts and community riders.
Develop lesson plans and seasonal goals for weekly riding students that progress their skills. We teach a balanced seat in English tack (i.e., Centered Riding, Dressage, Combined Training).
Assist in the daily care of a program herd of 20 Equids and maintenance of barn facilities.
Assist in the supervision and development of volunteers, part-time staff and Riding Instructors.
Foster diversity, equity and inclusion through words, actions and attitude.

Who we are looking for:
A Bachelors degree in Equestrian Studies or a related field or an equivalent amount of directly related education and experience is required
An experienced rider who can school a variety of horses along the training continuum
Someone with experience in equestrian program development and delivery with youth
An acceptable criminal background check and driver history
Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
Someone who models the principles of the Girl Scout Movement and is or will become a member of GSUSA, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont
